Didier Fornerol, formerly cellar master at Domaine de lArlot, has quietly built a reputation for pure, classically structured wines from his organically farmed 6-hectare estate in Corgoloin. His Cte de Nuits-Villages comes from roughly 3.7 hectares of 40-year-old Pinot Noir vines rooted in clay-limestone soils on the mid-slope between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Comblanchien.
The 2018 is fermented with a high proportion of whole clusters in open vats, gently extracted, and aged in neutral and lightly-used oak barrels. Its a structured, savory expression with lifted aromatics, taut fruit, and earthy lengthshowing both restraint and quiet confidence. Bottled in magnum, this format underscores its cellar-worthiness while delivering a wine thats already expressive in its texture and detail.
