Rousseau draws this Grand Cru from multiple parcels in Clos-de-Bzeincluding Grands Rangs, Clos de Bze Haut, and Vieilles Vigneson east to southeast-facing, limestone-scree slopes that deliver both perfume and drive. Fermentation was conducted with partial whole clusters over a 19-day cuvaison, followed by 1618 months in French oak (about 60% new); the wine was bottled without fining and with a light filtration. In the cool, low-yielding 2021 season, Clos-de-Bze showed particular finesse at the domaine, marrying red-fruited clarity and spice with silky, incisive tannins and a long, mineral finish.
