Winemaker’s Notes:
Beautiful garnet colour with purplish highlights. The nose is intoxicatingly floral. Peony and violet mingle with aromas of strawberry, black cherry and blackcurrant; an aromatic complexity finely punctuated by a touch of wood. The supple, suave attack evolves into a full-bodied, yet fresh mid-palate, with silky tannins that have already melted, making this a wine of great finesse. Juicy black cherry, strawberry and violet candy aromas reappear to accentuate the wine’s aromatic complexity.

The 2019 Baron de Brane is a gorgeous second wine. Succulent black cherry, plum, spice and leather are front and center. This racy Margaux offers a compelling interplay of bright red-toned fruit and silky contours. Drink it over the next handful of years. Tasted two times. – Antonio Galloni

The 2019 Baron de Brane is the first to use a tiny amount of amphora in the levage. It offers fine lift on the nose of almost airy red berry fruit, raspberry confit and rose petals; a light loamy scent emerges with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh opening, and a little angular initially, but it coheres toward the middle, delivering tart red cherries, fine acidity and good delineation toward the pencil-lead-infused finish. This is a fine Deuxime Vin from the estate that should drink well for a decade and more. 14.2 alcohol – Neal Martin
