Origins & Craftsmanship
Distilled on Islay at the Bruichladdich Distillery, Octomore 16.2 continues the acclaimed super-heavily peated lineage. Made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley, it boasts a phenol level of 170 PPM, pushing the limits of peated whisky while maintaining remarkable finesse. Aged for five years, the 16.2 expression underwent a nuanced maturation journeyinitially matured in ex-American whiskey casks before being re-casked into a selection of first-fill and second-fill European oak wine barrels, including Ribera del Duero, Chinon, and Rhne varieties. Bottled at 58.3% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and natural in color, encapsulating the Octomore philosophy of raw, unfiltered Islay power shaped through intelligent cask craft.
