Bruichladdich Octomore 16.3 is the purest expression of Islay terroirsuper-heavily peated, deeply textured, and profoundly complex. Its an elemental whisky born entirely on the island, showcasing Bruichladdichs obsession with provenance, intensity, and authenticity. A visceral yet refined single malt that captures Islays rugged soul in liquid form.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Distilled, matured, and bottled on Islay, Octomore 16.3 represents the heart of the Octomore story. Made from 100% Islay-grown Concerto barley harvested from Octomore Farm, it embodies Bruichladdichs farm-to-bottle philosophy. The barley was distilled in 2017 to a monumental phenol level of 274 PPM, among the highest ever recorded in Scotch whisky. Aged for five years entirely on Islay in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks (45%) and first-fill European oak wine casks (55%), the result is an astonishing balance of sweet malt, coastal smoke, and oak complexity. Bottled at 61.3% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural in color, 16.3 is the raw, uncut essence of Islay craftsmanship.
