This 14 year old peated whisky, from the Isle of Mull’s only whisky distillery is known as Ledaig, was bottled by Scotland’s oldest independent bottler, Cadenhead’s. Distilled in 2010 and matured in bourbon hogsheads, deliciously smoky, this bottling is packed full of flavor with notes of sweet peat, smoked cheese, custard cream biscuits and salty lobster meat.
Ledaig (Tobermory) Information
Heavily peated whisky from Tobermory distllery, Ledaig (pronounced “letch-ick”) is known for its smokey flavour, accompanied by a slight fruitiness, a floral armoma and typical island whisky notes like sea salt.
Located on the north east of Mull, Tobermory distillery was originally established (as Ledaig) in the late 1700s and, although it has had a complicated history, it is going strong to this very day – creating single malts that combine the waters from the Gearr Abhainn brook with traditional whisky making methods.
