Background

Centennial was developed through a USDA breeding program and released in 1990. Sometimes called “Super Cascade,” it shares that variety’s grapefruit and floral notes but offers higher alpha acids and a deeper, more resinous character. While it has seen peaks and valleys in commercial use, Centennial is enjoying a resurgenceespecially in West Coast IPAs and modern craft interpretations.
